1967 GTX Hemi

This is a toy of my father's that he has been working on for a while.  We decided to take it out for a spin.  I never really had a great appreciation for these old muscle cars until we got a couple of them to work on.  I can now see how they can cast a spell over a "mannish" heart.  This thing sounds sweet and runs with the power not fond in most cars now-a-days.  The other car he has is a Dodge Charger 440 six pack.  The numbers don't match like they do on this one but hopefully I can make a video of it so you can dig it's beauty as well.

Tiger Cubs - Trip to a Firestation

I have to say, after visiting the Firestation in Hoover, that the Firestation Russell went to was a LOT bigger, more modern, and (most importantly) had 2 working Firemen Poles. It was a gorgeous day and as you will see the boys got to experience a lot of neat things during their visit.

Scouts learning about Communication, for a "Make Up" Achievement.

Feeling how heavy the Jaws of Life are...

The Scouts turning to see, "Who just sprayed them?"

Fireman "Bookie"

Accepting his Beads.

Telling his Den about his Leave No Trace poster.

Never a Dull Moment in 2012

As soon as January 1st of 2012 came we Fosters have hit the ground running...

  • Between fun family outings, like the Christmas Lights at Bellingrath Gardens and enjoying the Mardi Gras season...

  •  To the many Cub Scout activities, like working on a Toolbox for an Achievement or Fishing for a Belt Loop (and fun) and much more...

  •  To counting down the days of school until summer...
  •  To playing Basketball...

  •  To losing our first baby tooth...
  •  And to taking our "First Flight."

We Fosters have kept very busy. We have not forgotten this site but as you can see, and this is only a 3rd of the activities, sitting still to "blog" has been a little difficult. God Bless.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year - from Fostersmill

"Twas the night before Christmas" and all through Grandma's house...every creature was stirring and there better not be a mouse. (Yuck!)
NORAD was streaming on daddy's computer with ease, while Aaron remembered they forgot to put out the goodies...    :)

Our month of December was full of fun activities...here are just a few of our memories, so far.

The boys collected toys to donate. During their Cub Scout Pack Christmas Swim Party the Marines came to except the donation for their Toys for Tots program.

Many schools around the Mobile area were invited by the Mobile Regional Airport to decorate Christmas Trees. This was the one for our kids' school.

Russell was in his 1st grade Christmas play...he was the carrier of the doves.

Russell wanted to wear a Christmas Tie...this was at his class' party.

This was at Miriam's party...she was showing off her fun Christmas cookies that a mom had made for everyone.

I cannot tell you how much I LOVE the Diary of a Wimpy Kid book series. Look at this! Aaron is reading during their class Christmas party. It is a Christmas Miracle!!

This was at my cousin's wedding...this is one of my friends from High School...we had no idea either would be there.

Having fun at Bass Pro Shop...while waiting on our time with Santa.

After Christmas Eve mass...

We hope you had a very Merry Christmas and that your New Year is full of many fun memories and God's blessings.

View from an Underwater Camera 2...

These are pictures from Miriam's Daisy Investiture.

She earned her pins and a chance to show her stuff. She recited the Girl Scout Promise and she proudly projected her knowledge of her petal. She had to tell what the purple petal meant..."Respect myself and respect others"

Miriam also earned some badges for the many activities she has participated in...for example, the Tradition's Day and going to the Haunted House activities at SDS.

This was the Kindergarten's class Thanksgiving play. Their group line was "Mercy Me". After they play they had a Thanksgiving Feast of Turkey, corn, greenbeans, and cornbread. Each of the kids got to make their own butter, too.

This is Chef "He who runs with bacon"...one of his homework assignments for class was meant for us parents. We were to give our child a Native American name and explain why. Russell liked our choice.
